Review of summer work expectations Studio time to work on summer assignments Finish Personal Surveys and Name Designs Sketchbooks: Pass out sketchbooks (your choice of hardcover or spiral) -1st one is covered by your materials fee *If you lose it, you must replace it by purchasing one from me for $8.00 or find one on your own *If you fill it up with drawings, show it to me and I will give you another! Please select a seat for today. We will establish a seating chart tomorrow.
Agenda: 1. Name design -Fold paper in half the "long way" or "hot dog" :) -Using highlighter write your first name in cursive or keep all of your letters connected. You need to have at least part of your name touching the fold line. -Take a pair of scissors and carefully cut around your name -Unfold, turn upside down and glue on to a second sheet of paper -Design an artwork based on the shape of your name using a variety of materials provided -The work may be representational or abstract 2.
